Emmanuel

January 2025

NEW TEAM RECTOR
There is no date yet for an appointment to this post but please continue to pray for the process and for the clergy across the Team – Margaret, Rupert and Christine and the lay leaders at each church, especially at Emmanuel, as they all take on more responsibility and prepare for the transition that will come when the new Team Rector is appointed. Pray that we will all be ready for the change that God longs to bring in this new season. Finally, please pray for Rupert as he prepares for his retirement.

FAREWELL TO RUPERT
Rupert Hankey is retiring at the end of January and his last Sunday in the Parish will be 12 January. There will be an Afternoon Tea in the Emmanuel Archer Hall on Sunday 12 January at 3.30pm. Please do come if you can and say goodbye from the Billericay and Little Burstead Team. If you are able to help on the day or to contribute towards the food, please see Christine Coe.

The theme for Messy Church in 2025 will be the Fruit of the Spirit. In January, we will be thinking about Joy. Join with us from 9.30am for breakfast before the service at 10am where we’ll share in reading the Bible, doing crafts and having fun.

EMMANUEL’S FINANCES
As for everyone else, the cost of running Emmanuel church has risen considerably in recent years. Currently it costs £41.25 a day to cover the basic running costs of the church. This does not include maintenance or other expenses and our Expenditure has exceeded our Income for a while now. To help alleviate the shortfall, donations towards the running of the church will be very gratefully received, either by direct payment to the Bank account:
